About the Speaker:
Mike Brothers is a PR and communications professional with more than 20 years of experience who is focused on service and engagement. He believes his role within an organization is to use his talents to serve his colleagues, his organization and community.
From his time as a journalist at the Springfield News-Leader to his experience in municipal government, higher education and now in the professional services industry, his mission has always been to tell compelling, relevant and timely stories. Mike is a people person who believes in cultivating relationships, whether it's with a colleague down the hall, a civic leader across town or journalists across the country.
Hired on with BKD in September of 2021, and after a merger with DHG which renamed the combined firm as FORVIS, Mike helped drive the national, trade and local earned media coverage of the merger, which created a $1.4 billion (and growing) firm.
Prior to that, he served as executive director of university relations for Drury University. He also spent time in public information working with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department and the City of Springfield.
