Position: Intern – University Communications, Missouri State University
Job description: The public relations intern will be an ad hoc member of the Public Relations Advisory Team. He/she will be involved in all meetings with and about campus constituents who request assistance in developing a public relations plan. The intern will work with full-time staff members in the offices of university relations, publications and web and new media to prepare text for brochures, web sites, or other uses for the “client.”
The public relations intern will also write news releases and news tips for distribution to media and may also have the opportunity to write articles for the Missouri State Magazine (alumni publication).
Hours: 144 hours during one semester to earn three credit hours; at least one hour per day during days that classes are in session
Required: Missouri State student; strong oral and written communications skills; strong interpersonal and time management skills
Preferred: Familiarity with Associated Press Style and completion of COM 379
Pay: Unpaid
Period: Every semester
